Overview

Microsoft is hiring a Principal Software Engineering Manager to lead the Employee Self Service Platform Extensibility team. You'll drive the development of AI-powered self-service experiences across various enterprise domains. This role requires expertise in AI technologies and leadership experience.

Who you are

You have a strong background in software engineering and management, with a proven track record of leading teams to deliver innovative solutions. Your experience includes hands-on development and a deep understanding of AI technologies, particularly in creating self-service platforms. You thrive in ambiguous environments and are adept at problem-solving across multiple code stacks. You are curious and eager to learn, always staying current with the latest advancements in AI and software development. You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and researchers.

Desirable

Experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio and BizChat is a plus, as is familiarity with enterprise systems and conversational AI. You have a growth mindset and are passionate about empowering teams to achieve their best work. Your leadership style fosters collaboration and innovation, encouraging team members to share ideas and take ownership of their projects.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the Employee Self Service Platform Extensibility team, driving the development of features that enhance AI-powered self-service experiences. You will work closely with a geo-distributed team, collaborating with engineers in Redmond and India to deliver high-quality solutions. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the design and implementation of extensibility features, ensuring they integrate seamlessly with enterprise systems. You will also mentor and guide team members, helping them grow in their roles and develop their skills.

You will partner with product managers and technical program managers to define the roadmap for the Employee Self-Service product, aligning it with Microsoft’s broader Copilot ecosystem. Your role will involve staying informed about industry trends and competitor offerings, allowing you to make strategic decisions that enhance the product's value. You will be responsible for fostering a culture of innovation within the team, encouraging experimentation and the exploration of new technologies.
