Data Engineer, Enterprise Platforms

Who you are

You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or have equivalent practical experience. With at least 1 year of experience in data processing software such as Hadoop, Spark, Pig, and Hive, you are familiar with algorithms like MapReduce and Flume. Your background includes database administration techniques and data engineering, along with proficiency in programming languages including Java, C++, Python, Go, or JavaScript. You have experience managing client-facing projects and troubleshooting technical issues while collaborating with Engineering and Sales Services teams.

Desirable

You have a preference for working with data warehouses, understanding their technical architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ELT processes, and reporting/analytic tools. Your experience extends to Big Data, information retrieval, data mining, or machine learning. You are skilled in building multi-tier high availability applications using modern web technologies such as NoSQL, MongoDB, SparkML, and TensorFlow. Additionally, you have experience architecting and developing software or internet-scale production-grade Big Data solutions in virtualized environments.

What you'll do

As a Data Engineer for the Enterprise Platforms team, you will play a vital role in building and maintaining the data infrastructure that fuels Google's product strategy. You will design, develop, and optimize data pipelines, ensuring data quality and accessibility for advanced analytics. Your technical expertise will enable the product team to leverage data-driven insights to optimize product feature adoption and performance, as well as measure the impact of strategic initiatives. You will implement robust data quality checks and monitoring to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including data science, engineering, product managers, sales, and finance, will be essential to understand data requirements and deliver impactful data solutions. You will also optimize data infrastructure for performance, efficiency, and scalability to meet evolving business needs.
