Staff Software Engineer

You have 5+ years of experience in backend engineering, demonstrating a strong ability to design and implement scalable systems. You possess a deep understanding of system architecture and have experience with high-scale production systems. Your problem-solving skills enable you to break down complex challenges into manageable tasks, ensuring that features are implemented efficiently and effectively. You are also familiar with best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment processes, which you apply to maintain high standards in your work.

You are a proactive communicator, able to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and contribute to discussions that shape product direction. You enjoy mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge, and fostering a culture of learning within your team. You are adaptable and open to feedback, continuously seeking ways to improve both your skills and the team's performance.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure would be a plus, as would familiarity with microservices architecture. You may also have exposure to agile methodologies and tools that facilitate collaboration and project management.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing features that enhance Earnin's backend services. You will collaborate with product managers and designers to understand user requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Your work will involve writing clean, maintainable code and conducting code reviews to ensure quality across the team.

You will also participate in architectural discussions, contributing your insights to improve system performance and scalability. As part of a hybrid team, you will engage in regular stand-ups and planning sessions, ensuring alignment on project goals and timelines. Your contributions will directly impact the user experience, enabling community members to access their earnings seamlessly.

Additionally, you will have opportunities to mentor junior engineers, helping them grow their skills and navigate challenges in their work. You will be encouraged to explore new technologies and methodologies that can enhance the team's capabilities and improve the overall product.
