Job Description

The role of the Head of Marketing for Payments will build and own the growth and expansion strategy, to build upon the success we have seen in Brazil, Mexico and other countries in the region.

This role will develop customer insights, and then identify, build, launch and manage marketing campaigns to acquire and engage customers. This role will also manage product marketing managers across the region. The marketing program development includes customer behavioral analysis, customer research, retention program management, personalized content development, targeting segment strategy, marketing channel management (e.g., email, push, paid advertisement), and creative development. This position will guide and unblock team members to let them work closely with Product Management, User Experience, Legal, Business Development, Public Relations and Engineering teams, as well as partner with stakeholder teams to deliver experiences resonating with customers.

This role requires the ability to navigate team members to think big, dive deep with technical teams, and work across partners throughout the larger Payments organization. You must be an influential leader with a passion for customer experiences and bring analytical rigor to the team. It is critical that you cultivate a tech culture to work backward from the customer and think through the customer’s needs to develop the marketing strategy.

A successful candidate will be a strong, innovative thinker with a proven record of building data-driven product marketing teams, creating and implementing strategic planning, and influencing cross-functional leadership. You are highly analytical and detail-oriented for team members’ proposals, think outside of the box, challenge the status quo, and is comfortable leading a team in a dynamic environment. You must be able to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. You will be at the center of the customer experience and let your team members dive deep into the customers’ responses and incremental business impact. You are willing to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary to meet organizational goals. You will anticipate and remove bottlenecks, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus constraints. People trust and respect you, and they like to work with you.

This role can be based in either Mexico City or São Paulo

A day in the life
As Head of LATAM Marketing, you will engage our customers and prospects to help them understand the diverse offering of payment methods at Amazon, as well as the benefits of convenience, security, value and affordability it delivers. You will be responsible for positioning and messaging our services in countries across the LATAM region. You and your team will be creating the most compelling category content to help customers understand the use cases and value propositions, and building the right marketing programs to drive awareness and customer engagement.

This role is to be based in Mexico City or Sao Paulo.

- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, technology, or relevant field of study
- Experience in product marketing across channels, including, but not limited to, out of home and digital media (paid and organic), and experience developing marketing communications/content, strategic segmentation, marketing management
- People leadership (including managers of managers)
- Fluency in English, and Spanish or Portuguese- Experience in product marketing channels, including Amazon Channels and mass media
- Payments industry experience
- Experience in marketing in Latin American countries
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree for this position
- Experience finding creative ways to do more with less, and a track record of staying on budget and deliver on time while managing multiple priorities across variety of internal and external stakeholders to execute high quality deliverables
- Experience in performance analytics and lifecycle analysis
- Oral and written communication skills with an innate attention to detail
- Passion for technology and an entrepreneurial spirit
