SpaceX is hiring a Thermal Development Technician to support the manufacturing and integration of heat shield systems for the Starship spacecraft. You'll maintain and operate robotic systems and various equipment, requiring skills in CNC and robotics.
You have a foundational understanding of robotic systems and are eager to learn more about thermal protection systems in aerospace applications. Your experience with CNC machines and robotic welding will be essential as you contribute to the development of technologies that enable human life on Mars. You are detail-oriented and capable of performing maintenance and repairs on complex equipment, ensuring everything operates smoothly. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are excited about the challenges of space exploration.
Experience with electrical and mechanical components is a plus, as you will be replacing and installing various parts to keep robotic assets in optimal condition. Familiarity with vacuum and thermal chambers will enhance your ability to support the TPS team effectively.
As a Thermal Development Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, programming, and operating robotic and automated systems. Your primary focus will be on supporting the manufacturing and integration of the heat shield for the Starship spacecraft. You will provide maintenance on various equipment, including vacuum chambers, thermal chambers, CNC machines, and robotic welders. Your role will involve replacing and installing electrical components such as switches, relays, and sensors, as well as mechanical components like motors, pumps, and valves. You will work closely with the TPS team to ensure that all systems are functioning correctly and efficiently, contributing to the success of SpaceX's mission to explore the stars.
