Vice President Underwriter

Who you are

You have extensive experience in underwriting, particularly in the commercial mortgage sector, and possess a deep understanding of loan documentation and GSE Guides. You excel in managing complex transactions and have a proven track record of maintaining credit standards while mitigating risks. Your communication skills are top-notch, allowing you to effectively liaise with various stakeholders, including mortgage bankers and investors. You are detail-oriented and thrive in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that all transactions are processed in accordance with internal guidelines and servicing agreements.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for processing various borrower consents within Berkadia's servicing portfolio, including assumptions, ownership transfers, modifications, and collateral changes. You will personally handle or oversee the underwriting of complex and high-profile transactions, ensuring that all deals progress smoothly through the lender consent process. You will maintain a pipeline of approximately 25–35 transactions, ensuring that each deal is underwritten and processed in strict accordance with loan documentation and internal guidelines. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding contractors' underwriting efforts and ensuring that credit standards are upheld throughout the process.
