Amazon is hiring a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to support the operations of critical infrastructure systems in their data centers. You'll monitor and maintain electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment, ensuring reliability and availability. This role requires familiarity with AWS and technical troubleshooting skills.

Experience or coursework related to electrical or mechanical engineering is a plus. Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) and electrical power management systems (EPMS) would be beneficial. You are open to learning new technologies and practices that can enhance operational efficiency. A proactive attitude towards troubleshooting and problem-solving will help you succeed in this role.
As a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, you will conduct daily building rounds to monitor and record information from various systems, including electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that these systems operate reliably and are available 24/7. You will assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events, working within internal service level agreements (SLAs) to resolve issues promptly. You will perform rack installations and decommissioning tasks, ensuring that all operations are completed efficiently and safely. Additionally, you will engage in preventive maintenance (PM), troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
You will also be responsible for technical writing to support the change management program, documenting processes and procedures clearly and accurately. Monitoring daily work requests and managing them to resolution will be part of your daily tasks, ensuring that all requests are addressed in a timely manner. You will collaborate with other team members to implement the newest technology and work practices, contributing to the continuous improvement of operations within the data center.
