Overview

SpaceX is hiring an NDE Engineer to develop and support advanced nondestructive evaluation inspection solutions. You'll interface with multiple business groups to enhance manufacturing process improvements. This role requires expertise in inspection technologies and data analysis.

Who you are

You have a strong background in nondestructive evaluation (NDE) engineering, with experience in developing and implementing inspection solutions that enhance manufacturing quality. You are skilled in interfacing with various teams to align on inspection requirements and capabilities, ensuring that all parts are designed for inspectability. Your ability to interpret and evaluate data is crucial for driving improvements in flight reliability. You are proactive in managing projects and collaborating with vendors and tooling groups to define requirements and deliver results.

You possess a deep understanding of emerging nondestructive methodologies and are committed to supporting automation initiatives that increase the probability of detection and reduce cycle times. Your experience includes prototyping and bench-top validation of new technologies, which helps mitigate risks associated with early inspection development. You are detail-oriented and focused on achieving targets related to manufacturing quality and defect reduction.

What you'll do

In this role, you will develop and deliver advanced nondestructive evaluation inspection solutions that are critical to SpaceX's mission of ensuring flight reliability. You will design, prototype, and implement nondestructive sensor systems to address manufacturing quality challenges. Collaborating with vehicle engineering teams across all programs, you will align on inspection requirements and capabilities, ensuring that all parts are designed for inspectability.

You will be responsible for interpreting and evaluating data from inspections, providing insights that drive process improvements. Your role will involve interfacing with vendors and tooling groups to define project requirements and manage initiatives from conception through to delivery. You will support NDE specialists in the development, qualification, and deployment of new inspection technologies, ensuring that SpaceX maintains its high standards for quality and reliability.
