The Amazon Connectivity team designs connectivity software solutions for Amazon devices encompassing wide range of products including the Fire TV family of devices.
In this role as a Sr Software Development Engineer, you will be part of a fast-paced, agile and innovative team who is bringing new Wi-Fi and networking experiences to the exciting range of devices in a startup like environment.
Key job responsibilities
As a Sr Software Development Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to:
• Architect, develop, and deliver Wi-Fi connectivity features for new and existing Amazon devices
• Collaborate with other software teams to design and deliver unique customer features and experiences
• Provide Amazon Customer Support technical assistance to troubleshoot customer issues
• Mentor junior and new team members

- 7+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 7+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C, or C++ including object-oriented design
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent- 7+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Have prior experience with Wi-Fi solutions from one or more major Wi-Fi chipset vendors · Strong knowledge of TCP/IP internals and common Networking protocols such as DHCP, DNS, HTTP, and HTTPS etc.
- Experienced in IEEE802.11/Wi-Fi protocols and extensions
- Experienced in Wi-Fi development and debugging tools such as wireless sniffers and protocol analyzers
- Familiarity with Android and Linux development on kernel, device drivers, and frameworks
