Job Description

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Seattle, WA, USA

Amazon is continuously innovating new services and features for our customers. Our engineers invent, build, and sometimes break things to make them easier, faster, better, and more cost-effective. However, no matter what we’re building – from websites to web services, AR to AI, drones to devices – security is always our top priority. The Amazon Security team focuses on working with our builders to provide experiences that our customers can trust. That means constantly learning new things and solving complex problems to protect the safety, security, and privacy of billions of lives on a global scale.

At Amazon, you’ll be working with the best minds in technology and security. Learn and be curious here, and accelerate your career growth. You can take pride in knowing that your work is meaningful, having a positive impact on others and making the world a better place.

What you will do: You will own the vision and architecture for products that will enforce and enable secure development at Amazon. You will work closely with your customers, partner teams, and foundational engineering teams to ensure the needs of your customers are clearly understood and effectively addressed. You will collaborate with the senior leadership team to drive key engineering and business decisions that achieve the right outcomes. Since our systems are foundational to the Amazon ecosystem, you will also have the opportunity to learn about various businesses across Amazon.

What we are looking for: Successful candidates for this position must have experience in growing and coaching a highly qualified team of software engineers. They must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven, and deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment. You will be able to Think Big to develop a plan and invent mechanisms that scale to meet the broad and diverse needs of teams across Amazon. You will have a strong customer obsession, working to deeply understand the needs of your customers and relentlessly looking to improve their experience and make them more productive.

What you will do: You will own the technical vision and architecture for one of ARMOR's core products (MAGIC, UDD, or Sheepdog) that form the security lifecycle from prevention to detection to remediation. You'll work closely with security teams across Amazon, including SDO Cloud Security, AWS Proactive Security, and Business Security Teams, to understand their needs and deliver solutions that scale.

Key job responsibilities

* Develop roadmaps that balance new features with operational excellence
* Champion operational excellence and drive continuous improvement in service reliability
* Mentor and develop engineers while building a diverse and inclusive team culture

A day in the life
ARMOR is foundational to Amazon's cloud security, enabling prevention of security violations, detection of non-compliant resources, and automated remediation at scale.
