Job Description
The Applied Networking team builds core infrastructure for device-to-device communication on Apple devices, including both messaging and realtime communications. The team's frameworks are behind sharing, collaboration, messaging, and secure connectivity, providing API surfaces that power Apple products such as iMessage, FaceTime, HomeKit, SharePlay, Apple Watch, AirDrop, and more.
We're looking for an exceptional software engineer with expertise in security to join us in building the most secure, private, reliable, and performant communications and networking protocols behind many of our customers' most loved Apple features. This developer will play a crucial role in safeguarding our users by designing, implementing, maintaining, and hardening security features that protect our users and preserve privacy.
Our goal is to develop technologies and craft experiences that revolutionize the way people communicate with each other. If this opportunity sounds exciting to you, please apply!
As a developer in this position, you will:
Build innovative networking and communications features that are secure by design
Design and implement communication protocols leveraging encryption, including both messaging and realtime media
Improve the security of especially sensitive codepaths (for example, zero-click parsing of untrusted data)
Be responsible for static analysis of source code, fuzzing, testing strategies, and down-to-earth security bug fixing
Work mostly in Swift and Objective-C, designing delightful APIs and implementing frameworks and daemons that make up the operating system
Participate in code reviews with a focus on identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities
At Apple, user privacy and security are paramount. You will play a substantial role in advancing these features for hundreds of millions of users across the many products and services we make.
