Flexport is hiring an Air Operations Associate to ensure smooth and timely air freight movements for customers. You'll coordinate with airlines and internal teams to drive efficiency in supply chain execution. This role is ideal for candidates looking to start their career in operations.
You are an organized and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You have a strong interest in logistics and supply chain management, and you are eager to learn about air freight operations. You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively coordinate with various stakeholders, including airlines and trucking partners. You are comfortable working with data and technology, as you will be responsible for inputting and managing shipment information in the system. You are a team player who enjoys collaborating with others to achieve common goals. You are proactive in identifying issues and finding solutions to ensure timely deliveries.
Experience or coursework in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field would be beneficial. Familiarity with air freight operations or customer service roles is a plus. A willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies is essential.
As an Air Operations Associate, you will execute end-to-end air shipments, which includes receiving bookings and coordinating with shippers, consignees, and agents to arrange shipments according to standard operating procedures. You will input data into the system to create shipment files, ensuring that all necessary documentation, such as Master Air Waybills (MAWB) and House Air Waybills (HAWB), is completed accurately and on time. You will also be responsible for filing Automated Manifest System (AMS) entries or submitting Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) messages as required. Timely invoicing to clients will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that all financial aspects of the shipments are handled efficiently. You will work closely with internal teams to monitor shipment progress and address any issues that may arise during the transportation process.
