Job Description

The AWS Global AI Policy team is seeking an independent, organized self-starter with expertise and experience in managing multiple small scale projects. This individual will monitor external standards bodies for project updates and deadlines, ensuring we’re meeting our objectives; support cross-organizational coordination/ stakeholder management; assist in representing the team in external standards activities as needed; and amplify the team’s efforts by leveraging internal and external collaborators.

The individual will be responsible for communicating project updates to appropriate team members, highlighting prioritized tasks and deadlines. This individual will also track our deliverables for external projects and help share team results, adjusting messaging for different audiences. The ideal candidate earns trust, is highly organized, detail oriented, and one who thrives in an ever-changing, international, and innovative work environment. The candidate will work closely with Public Policy, Standards Engagement, Legal Counsel and Tech teams.

Key job responsibilities
- Track multiple external project communication platforms, including websites and email to deeply understand external project status and plan next steps.
- Maintain register of internal staff and roles for each project, highlighting gaps and resource needs
- Delegate tasks and communicate project status and deadlines to appropriate internal development team
- Work across a wide variety of AWS teams to help develop appropriately vetted project deliverables on time
- Track value, acceptability, and timeliness of project deliverables
- Define, execute and track projects plans with tight deadlines, drive for results, while being extremely detail oriented.


About the team
The AWS Global Public Policy AI team leads engagement on artificial intelligence policy and standards worldwide. As a dynamic group of subject matter experts, we shape global AI governance frameworks, promote responsible innovation, and drive regulatory interoperability across jurisdictions. Our team combines deep technical expertise with strategic policy acumen to advocate for risk-based, innovation-friendly approaches to AI regulation while addressing legitimate safety and responsible AI concerns. - Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a field related to Public Policy, Public Administration, or AI/ML.
- 3-5 years experience in program or project management or similar experience
- 3+ years experience delivering cross functional projects with tech and non-tech teams
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment across multiple businesses
- Experience in or demonstrated ability to influence with or without formal authority
- Demonstrated ability to define, influence, refine, and implement processes, procedures and policies
- Experience communicating concepts to different audiences with varying backgrounds and experience
- Exceptional organizational skills to meet deadlines and deliver reports
- Ability to work independently and autonomously in an ambiguous environment
- Self-motivated with attention to detail
- Some domestic and global travel is required.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
