Who you are

You have over 10 years of experience in software development, with a strong background in managing teams of engineers. Your expertise in C++ allows you to tackle complex technical challenges and guide your team in building robust infrastructure. You have a proven track record of working cross-functionally with various teams, including Product and Data Science, to drive data-driven decision-making.

You are passionate about building reliable and scalable systems, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can influence technical direction. Your experience with large-scale systems equips you with the knowledge to set the technical vision for your team and contribute to the broader infrastructure goals.

You possess strong leadership skills and have a history of mentoring and developing engineers, helping them grow in their careers. You are curious and eager to solve deep technical problems, and you enjoy collaborating with diverse teams to deliver impactful solutions.

Desirable

Familiarity with Google infrastructure tools such as Flume and Borg would be a bonus, as would experience in simulation-based evaluation systems. You are open to learning and adapting to new technologies that can enhance your team's capabilities.

What you'll do

As the Technical Lead Manager, you will lead an Infrastructure team dedicated to building and maintaining production services for the Simulation-based Evaluation of the Waymo Driver. You will set the technical vision and direction for your team, ensuring that the services you develop are reliable, scalable, and cost-effective.

You will collaborate closely with other teams to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements. Your role will involve making data-driven decisions that impact the infrastructure's performance and reliability. You will also be responsible for guiding your team through the development process, from design to deployment, ensuring that best practices are followed.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to influence the direction of the broader infrastructure, working on projects that have a significant impact on the future of autonomous driving technology. You will be expected to stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies that can enhance the Waymo Driver's capabilities.
