Waymo is seeking a PDS Lead for Fleet Optimization and Orchestration to provide leadership in data-driven decision-making and enhance operational efficiency. You'll work with data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning to optimize the Waymo Driver's performance. This role requires strong leadership skills and experience in data science.
You have a strong background in data science and product operations, with experience leading teams to execute on strategic visions. You are skilled in analyzing complex operational and commercial data, and you understand how to leverage statistical modeling and machine learning algorithms to drive business outcomes. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations teams to ensure data-driven decision-making. You are adaptable and open-minded, ready to embrace new information and challenges as they arise. Your leadership style fosters a culture of curiosity and continuous improvement within your team.
Experience in the autonomous driving or transportation industry is a plus, as is familiarity with fleet optimization strategies. You may also have a background in software engineering or data engineering, which enhances your ability to communicate effectively with technical teams.
In this role, you will set the vision for a team of Product Data Scientists, guiding them in executing projects that enhance the Waymo Driver's operational efficiency. You will own the output across optimizations, statistical modeling, data analysis, and machine learning algorithms, ensuring that your team delivers high-quality insights that drive business decisions. You will analyze complex datasets to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, collaborating closely with other departments to implement your findings. Your leadership will be crucial in scaling the Waymo Driver's commercial operations, as you work to enhance rider satisfaction and operational quality.
You will also be responsible for mentoring and developing your team members, helping them grow their skills and advance their careers within the company. Regularly, you will present your team's findings to senior leadership, articulating the impact of your work on the company's strategic goals. You will play a key role in shaping the future of autonomous driving technology, contributing to projects that have a significant impact on mobility and safety.
Waymo provides a competitive salary range of $268,000—$340,000 USD, along with eligibility for an annual bonus program and equity incentive plan.
