Datadog is seeking a Backend Engineer to build a scalable platform for system monitoring and security. You'll work with Java, Python, and Docker in a hybrid environment across multiple locations in France and Spain. This role requires significant experience in backend development.
You have significant experience in one or more programming languages, particularly Java and Python, and you value code simplicity and performance. You can design architecture to solve problems at high scale, having worked on production systems that handle large volumes of data. With a BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent experience, you thrive in a fast, high-growth startup environment that respects its engineers and customers. You’re excited about leveraging AI tools to enhance how you code, solve problems, and build. In this role, you will solve scaling bottlenecks in critical services and deploy new features to production, progressively rolling them out with feature flags. You will investigate and fix production issues from services your team owns, ensuring high availability and performance. You will design scalable solutions to accommodate increasing traffic and work closely with your team to plan the most important projects to tackle next. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of Datadog's platform, helping thousands of companies monitor and protect their systems effectively.
