Amazon Q Business is revolutionizing workplace productivity through innovative generative AI technology. As an AI-powered assistant, it transforms how enterprises operate by empowering employees to be more creative, data-driven, efficient, prepared, and productive. Unlike traditional AI assistants, Amazon Q Business leverages advanced artificial intelligence to answer questions, provide summaries, generate content, and securely complete tasks based on enterprise data.
Central to its functionality is the ability to ingest and index documents to provide high accuracy while answering questions. We have 40+ connectors crawling data from popular enterprise applications and document repositories to offer a seamless search experience that breaks down information silos and enhances collaboration. The crawled data is sent to the ingestion layer which processes different document types, handles images and multi-modalities and chunks the documents with overlaps to preserve the context. The chunked documents are then indexed in Open Search and Elastic Search clusters to provide semantic and syntactic search results. The query from the end user is orchestrated to fetch results from the indexing layer and goes through multiple re-ranking, ensembling and merging algorithms, and the top passages are sent to Bedrock for summarizing the response in a conversational manner.

- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
