Google is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for their Payments team to provide quantitative support and insights. You'll work with Python, R, and SQL to analyze product performance and drive data-driven decisions. This role requires 8 years of experience in analytics.
You have a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field, and at least 8 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems. You are skilled in performing statistical analysis and coding, with proficiency in Python, R, and SQL. If you hold a Master's degree, you can qualify with 5 years of experience. Your background includes experience in product analytics within payments, e-commerce, or financial services, and you have the ability to manage and organize work sprints for yourself and a team of analysts.
As a data-loving member of the team, you serve as an analytics expert for your partners, using numbers to help them make better decisions. You relish tallying up the numbers one minute and communicating your findings to a team leader the next. You are adept at weaving stories with meaningful insights from data, making critical recommendations for your fellow Googlers in Engineering and Product Management.
A Master's degree in a related quantitative field is preferred, as well as experience in managing cross-functional collaborations with product, engineering, and operations teams. You have a strategic perspective and can contribute to the development and alignment of team Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and analytics strategy to ensure they support the product and business goals across the Payments organization.
In this role, you will lead a critical part of Payments that focuses on acquiring the usage of nearly one billion users with Forms of Payments (FOPs) across all Google products. You will shape Payments products and solutions, helping our leaders make data-driven decisions. Your responsibilities will include defining key metrics and supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and operations teams to ensure that analytics strategies align with business goals.
You will also contribute to the development of insights that help drive business decisions, ensuring that your analytical work supports the overall strategy of the Payments team. Your role will involve analyzing large datasets, performing statistical analyses, and presenting your findings to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner. You will be expected to stay updated with the latest trends in data science and analytics, applying best practices to your work.
At Google, you will be part of a team that serves a worldwide user base of more than a billion people. You will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment that values data-driven decision-making and innovation. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we believe diverse teams build better products. You will have access to professional development opportunities and the chance to contribute to impactful projects that shape the future of payments at Google.
