Google is seeking a Senior Policy Specialist to develop and implement policies for Workspace and user-generated content. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and leverage your expertise in trust and safety. This role requires 5+ years of experience in a policy or technology environment.
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 5 years of experience in a policy, legal, trust and safety, or technology environment. Your background may include a JD, MBA, or Master’s degree, which enhances your understanding of user-generated products and content moderation processes. You are familiar with Google’s user-facing AI products, such as Gemini, and have experience building policies for generative AI content. Your knowledge of the technology sector and key policy issues affecting the internet, including harmful content, privacy, and AI, positions you as a subject matter expert. You excel in driving evidence and data-based policies, showcasing your excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills while paying attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.
As a Senior Policy Specialist, you will be part of the Trust and Safety team, tasked with identifying and addressing the biggest challenges related to the safety and integrity of Google’s products. You will collaborate globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and combat abuse and fraud cases at Google speed. Your role will involve advising cross-functional teams on policy considerations for Workspace and user-generated content AI product launches, ensuring that best-fit policy solutions are developed and implemented. You will work to influence product decisions and prioritization, ultimately improving user experience. Your contributions will help advance education around the first principles that define Google’s approach to trust risk areas, promoting user trust and safety across all platforms.
