Job Description

Are you interested in applying your technical and engineering skills to address world-changing problems? Are you interested in driving the development of methods, models and systems for state-of-the-art transportation and fulfillment systems? If so, then this is the job for you.

At Amazon we are responsible for developing an in-depth understanding of our current network and designing our future networks. We are looking for motivated software development engineers to drive new systems to support fulfillment. We are developing an interactive web application to visualize Amazon's end-to-end supply chain and to enable diving deep into business metrics, performance and overall health of Amazon's supply chain. We are a full-stack team made up of Software Development Engineers and Data Engineers developing all our applications and data repositories from scratch. Each of our applications processes terabytes of data that is carefully derived from various internal sources at Amazon. Our immediate goal is to provide a granular view of the inbound segment of our supply chain in North America region to answer critical business questions. We will also train and deploy GenAI chatbots over these data to allow supply chain analysis and Q&A as a self-service by our users. As an engineering team embedded within a science organization, our day-to-day work also involves partnership with research scientists focused in the areas of Optimization, Control theory and Machine Learning to design and influence newer systems for supply chain management.

As a software development engineer, you will be responsible for design, development, testing, and deployment of a range of products towards data visualization and interpretation. You will get a unique opportunity to build real-time Big Data applications entirely on AWS using services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Kinesis, Glue, EMR, Redshift, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, Athena, and QuickSight.

A successful candidate will have an established background in developing customer-facing experiences, a strong technical ability, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.


About the team
Our team is a mix of Software Development Engineer and Data Engineers. We are a full-stack team and build Big Data applications across all our projects that are designed and developed on native AWS from scratch.- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
