Job Description

Amazon is looking for a highly motivated Export Compliance Manager to drive export controls implementations and export licensing frameworks in Singapore and the APAC region.

The candidate must possess strong analytical skills and be comfortable working autonomously in a highly demanding and often ambiguous environment.

The role will help drive and scale the APAC export controls and licensing program through innovative process development, engaging cross-functional teams that span a broad range of stakeholders, including development teams and senior leadership. The candidate will have strong program/project management skills, must have a passion for new challenges, be creative, self-directed, and a great team player. In this role, you will drive continuous process improvement, and collaborate effectively to solve problems and develop requirements for new compliance solutions.



Key job responsibilities
- Apply strategic export compliance subject matter expertise to advise internal business customers and influence AWS APAC export compliance policies, processes, and compliance initiatives.
- Develop, implement, enhance, and maintain strategic compliance processes and solutions for managing APAC region export regulatory licensing and compliance including Singapore TradeFirst and Tier 3 license, driving continuous improvements.
- Export controls implementation and classification of Strategic Goods (Control) Regulations dual-use items.
- Partner with Public Policy to engage export control regulators.
- Monitor regulatory changes.
- Create metrics for management reporting
- Drive process improvement and compliance implementation projects.
- Own leadership communications to stakeholder teams and executive leadership.
- Innovate control mechanisms to best meet business goals and compliance requirements.

- 7+ years’ experience in export compliance in a global corporate environment.
- Experience with Singapore export regulations, including Strategic Goods Control List.
- Experience implementing and managing Singapore and APAC region country export licensing and management programs.
- Experience determining export authorization requirements for internal business teams. - Demonstrated leadership and management of compliance projects and programs; prioritization, planning and task delegation.
- Experience in people management, including leading teams, mentoring, and fostering collaboration to achieve objectives.
- Experience determining export classification for hardware, software, technology, and control plan implementation.
- Attention to detail, and the ability to self-start and self-motivate.
- Experience in working with technology and automation to develop innovative solutions Ability to mine and analyze data for reporting.
