The Graphic Designer creates graphic communications across print and digital channels. Working collaboratively with the Copy and Account teams to deliver thoughtful, accurate on brand work that delivers on our business and brand strategies.
*Opportunity open only to candidates based in Costa Rica.
Contributions:
- Responds to, solves and makes decisions on standard/routine business requests with limited risk
- Responsible for delivering on time work as required by the Account Manager and creative leaders and contributing to business results.
- Assists more senior designers in achieving business results by:
- utilizing technical knowledge and skills to expedite delivery
- understanding of priorities for self and in consideration of others
- allocating own time effectively to meet goals in a manner that meets agreed to deadlines
- Demonstrates an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge
- Works well with others and communicates effectively
- Performs other duties as appropriate.
Responsibilities:
- Designs communication pieces for customer communications across both print and digital mediums for both internal and external projects and campaigns
- Creation of layouts in a Mac/Adobe CS environment
- Deliver accurate, timely, thoughtful communications that support brand and creative strategies
- Create environmental graphics for sales facilities, resorts or office spaces
- Integrate style consistently into all communications as specified by brand style standards
- Responsible for collaborating with copy and account teams to deliver on strategy
- Display flexibility in design so as to avoid repetitive and derivative work
- Prepare art files to agreed to print pre-press specifications
- Make changes to digital communications in required platform or format
- Familiarity with current graphic design trends and the ability to incorporate them into branded work
- Foster a tight-knit team environment with a focus on communication and collaboration
- Ability to convert and download files for production purposes
- Check and/or modify files for appropriate production channel
- Back-up and file completed projects in an organized fashion according to established processes
Requirements:
- Proficiency in customary design tools and software
- Experience in all phases of print, email and web production
- Ability to producing high-resolution, pre-press-ready artwork, including image retouching
- Extensive knowledge of design principles including layout, typography, color, balance, photography, composition and current design trends
- Marketing strategy and direct response design preferred
- Detail oriented and possess excellent organizational skills
- Ability to set priorities, manage time, and meet deadline
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume creative environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- The digital designer should be comfortable with front-end programming languages to support the fulfillment of designs with dev teams and direct build out of email communications.
- Strong portfolio of design work, showing solution to business problems through effective design.
- Experience designing e-commerce websites or advertising
- Able to present concepts and receive feedback
- Able to provide constructive and strategic feedback
- Familiar creating data merge, editable PDF and MS PowerPoint documents
