Pathward is seeking a Commercial Underwriter I to manage the underwriting process for loans, ensuring credit risk is acceptable. This role requires strong attention to detail and an understanding of credit policies.
You are an entry-level professional eager to start your career in underwriting. You possess a keen attention to detail and a willingness to learn about credit policies and the underwriting process. You understand the importance of financial inclusion and are motivated to contribute to a company that values economic mobility. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are excited to work with a team dedicated to problem-solving and innovation.
While not required, any experience or coursework related to finance or underwriting would be beneficial. Familiarity with financial products and an understanding of credit risk would also be advantageous as you begin your career in this field.
In this role, you will be responsible for underwriting loans across a variety of products, ensuring that each loan meets the company's credit risk standards. You will facilitate the booking of new loans, guiding customers through the requirements and their responsibilities. You will manage the entire underwriting process from start to finish, ensuring a smooth transition to Account Executives. Your ability to apply credit policies effectively will be crucial in maintaining an acceptable level of risk while promoting financial inclusion.
You will work closely with other team members to ensure that all underwriting processes are completed in a timely and efficient manner. You will also participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in the underwriting field. As you gain experience, you will have the opportunity to take on more complex underwriting tasks and contribute to the overall success of the team.
