Job Description

Amazon is seeking a Program Lead to manage the integration of our newly acquired companies onto Amazon payroll. This position is responsible for supporting mergers and acquisition activity for North America.

Your primary role will be to onboard new Amazon subsidiaries and employee groups, along with setting up programs to monitor and measure ongoing subsidiary payroll success. You will work with stakeholders throughout Amazon to deliver high quality, scalable payroll solutions. You will collaborate with various Amazon stakeholders to deliver the best subsidiary experience with the most efficient use of resources and technologies.

You will also assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. Successful candidates will have project management experience in Payroll, be detail driven and have excellent problem solving abilities.

You should not only be passionate about delivering extensible, on-time solutions, but should also be obsessed with contributing to the development of high-performance teams through rigorous planning, disciplined attention to performance metrics, continuous process improvement and mentorship. You'll also be responsible for translating lessons learned into mechanisms for improvement.

The Program Manager is accountable for the program's NA deliverables, but will also support projects in other geographies as needed.

Key job responsibilities
• Interact with Subsidiary Finance and Technical contacts, Project Sponsors, Technical Program Managers and multiple stakeholders teams to deliver payroll integration.
• Lead the effective and efficient delivery of large, complex payroll integration projects.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement to meet business requirements
• Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
• Foster constructive and pro-active communication across organizational boundaries
• Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels.
• Create, maintain and disseminate project status, roadmaps, and documentation to stakeholders.
• Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.
• Exercise absolute discretion regarding confidential projects
• Support non-integrated subsidiaries
• Other duties as assigned.

This role is on-site in San Jose, Costa Rica.

About the team
We are a global team who seek to ensure a seamless experience for employees joining Amazon as a result of acquisition, as well as internal stakeholder teams. - 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 4+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
- 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
- Six Sigma Black Belt
- Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
- Experience as a lean sensei, or experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of Tableau
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
