Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Maintenance Engineer for the High Pressure Die Casting team in Bastrop, TX. You'll provide engineering support for production equipment and lead maintenance technicians in troubleshooting complex issues. This role requires expertise in CMMS and root cause analysis.

Who you are

You have a strong background in maintenance engineering, particularly in high-pressure die casting environments, and are adept at providing technical support for complex production equipment. Your experience includes leading teams of maintenance technicians to troubleshoot and resolve challenging equipment failures, ensuring that production lines operate smoothly and efficiently. You are skilled in performing root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing corrective measures to address equipment and process gaps. Your familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) allows you to effectively manage maintenance workflows and documentation. You are proactive in developing and executing improvement projects aimed at maximizing equipment availability and reliability.

Desirable

Experience with predictive maintenance tools such as vibration analysis and cycle counting is a plus, as is a background in collaborating with engineering teams to enhance equipment design for reliability. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are committed to continuous improvement in maintenance practices.

What you'll do

As a Maintenance Engineer at SpaceX, you will lead a team of maintenance technicians, guiding them through the troubleshooting of complex equipment failures. You will take ownership of equipment improvement projects from concept through design and implementation, ensuring that production equipment is optimized for maximum availability. Your role will involve collaborating with development engineering teams to integrate reliability and maintenance efficiency into new projects, proposing design adjustments as necessary.
