Software Engineer, Atlas Distributed Systems

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in distributed systems — you've designed and implemented scalable solutions that handle complex data workflows. Your strong programming skills in Java and Python enable you to build robust applications that meet high-performance standards. You are familiar with cloud technologies, especially AWS, and have experience working with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.

You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions. Your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly helps you guide other teams in leveraging the Atlas platform effectively. You are detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high standards of quality in your work, ensuring that the systems you build are fault-tolerant and efficient.

Desirable

Experience with various storage technologies, including SSD, HDD, and cloud storage solutions like S3 and Azure Blob, is a plus. Familiarity with data security practices and immutability concepts will help you contribute to Rubrik's mission of revolutionizing cloud protection.

What you'll do

As a Software Engineer on the Atlas team, you will design, develop, and deliver solutions that enhance Rubrik's data protection capabilities. You will outline architectural principles and prototype changes that align with the team's vision for the Atlas platform. Your work will involve collaborating with other engineering teams to ensure that they can effectively build on top of the Atlas infrastructure.

You will be responsible for implementing features that support various applications, including Kubernetes, Oracle, and AWS services. Your role will require you to stay updated on industry trends and best practices in distributed systems, allowing you to propose innovative solutions that drive the evolution of Rubrik's data platform.

You will participate in code reviews and contribute to the team's knowledge base, sharing insights and best practices with your peers. Your technical direction will impact multiple teams across Rubrik, making your contributions vital to the overall success of the organization.
