SpaceX is hiring a Supervisor for Welding in Starship Propulsion to lead a team of technicians and ensure high-quality welding processes. This role requires extensive experience in welding techniques and leadership skills.
You have a Bachelor’s degree or an associate degree and at least 4 years of experience in gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), or gas metal arc welding (GMAW), or you possess 8+ years of professional experience in metal fabrication. Your leadership experience spans over 2 years, where you have successfully managed teams and driven performance improvements. You are committed to maintaining high workmanship standards and ensuring safety on the production floor. Your technical expertise allows you to provide valuable support to your welding team, enhancing their skills and productivity.
In this role, you will lead and manage a staff of approximately 30 technicians, overseeing daily schedules and workflow on the production floor. You will provide technical support to the welding team and collaborate with management and engineering teams to streamline welding processes. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the control of production weld quality and applying relevant welding codes. You will also review work instructions, make recommendations for changes, and assess candidates during the hiring process. Your leadership will involve planning and scheduling work, assigning tasks, and assessing completed work to ensure high performance and quality standards.
