SpaceX is hiring a Propulsion Technician (Dragon) - Level 4/5 to build and test propulsion hardware for Crew and Cargo Dragon vehicles. You'll work with precision tools and mechanical systems in Hawthorne, CA.
You have solid mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in building and testing propulsion hardware. Your ability to read and interpret technical drawings allows you to follow detailed work instructions effectively. You are comfortable using precision calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers, and you can operate cranes and heavy equipment safely. You thrive in a dynamic environment and are capable of flexing across various operations to meet aggressive build schedules. Your willingness and ability to learn new skills make you a valuable asset to the team.
Experience with high-pressure test stands and familiarity with propulsion systems will set you apart. A background in aerospace or a related field is a plus, as is any experience working with NASA or similar organizations. You are proactive in seeking out solutions and can work autonomously while ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently.
As a Propulsion Technician, you will be responsible for building, testing, and reworking all propulsion hardware on the Crew Dragon and Cargo Dragon vehicles. This includes working with Draco engines, propulsion tanks, valves, regulators, and actuators. You will perform your work according to established procedures and specifications, ensuring that all components meet the required standards. Your role will involve operating high-pressure test stands and performing blending tasks as needed. You will also be expected to perform other related duties to maintain an efficient and effective work environment.
Collaboration with other technicians and engineers will be essential as you contribute to the overall success of the propulsion systems.
