Job Description

You'll be at the forefront of developing next-generation logistics solutions that push the boundaries of automation and engineering. Your work will directly impact how millions of packages are processed and transported, creating scalable systems that enhance efficiency and technological innovation across our global network.

Key job responsibilities
- Design and develop optimal solutions for transportation and sortation networks
- Coordinate with internal and external teams to generate high-quality, cost-effective engineering solutions
- Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously with precision and strategic insight
- Lead technical initiatives that drive innovation in automation and system design
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to diverse stakeholders

A day in the life
- End to end ownership of automation pilots.
- Design pilot test plans, success criteria, and SOPs.
- Coordinate installation, commissioning, and performance monitoring of new automation solutions.
- Interface with 3P vendors for hardware development, integration, and field support.
- Partner with Ops, RME, WHS, and Business Corp teams to align pilot execution and scale readiness.
- Collaborate with Legal and BD to ensure contracts protect Amazon’s IP interests.
- Participate in DFMEA reviews and safety risk mitigation planning.
- Build scaling strategy for the automation products based on the performance results.

About the team
We are a collaborative group of passionate engineers dedicated to solving complex logistical challenges. Our team thrives on innovation, continuous learning, and creating solutions that have meaningful impact. We work in a dynamic environment that values creativity, technical excellence, and interdisciplinary cooperation.- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Robotics Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in the design and development of complex mechanical products or industrial equipment
- Proven background in robotics or systems engineering, with a focus on hardware development
- Hands-on experience with machine design, systems architecture, and integration within warehouse automation or similar industrial environments
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software, including advanced assemblies, part design, and configuration management best practices
- Demonstrated experience in building, testing, and deploying robotic or automated systems in production environments.
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and test procedures- Master's degree in electrical or computer engineering
- Experience executing product design from concept to production
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams
- Advanced understanding of robotic system integration
- Proven track record of successful technical project management

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
