Overview

Relativity is seeking a Staff Combustion Device Test Engineer to join their Engine Systems & Test Team. You'll be responsible for developing and testing combustion devices for the Terran R rocket. This role requires expertise in mechanical engineering and a passion for aerospace innovation.

Who you are

You are a seasoned mechanical engineer with extensive experience in combustion device testing and development. Your background includes working on propulsion systems, where you've contributed to the entire lifecycle of engine components from design to qualification. You thrive in collaborative environments, engaging with cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering challenges. Your problem-solving skills are complemented by a strong understanding of mechanical systems and their integration into larger aerospace projects. You are driven by the desire to innovate and push the boundaries of technology in the aerospace industry.

Desirable

Experience with rocket propulsion systems or aerospace engineering is a plus. Familiarity with testing methodologies and data analysis tools will enhance your ability to contribute effectively to the team. A passion for space exploration and a proactive approach to engineering challenges will set you apart.

What you'll do

As a Staff Combustion Device Test Engineer, you will lead the testing and validation of combustion devices for the Terran R rocket. Your responsibilities will include designing test plans, executing tests, and analyzing data to ensure the performance and reliability of engine components. You will collaborate closely with propulsion engineers to refine designs based on test results and contribute to the continuous improvement of engine performance. Your role will also involve mentoring junior engineers and sharing your expertise to foster a culture of innovation within the team.
