Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 8 years of experience in software development, design, and architecture. Your background includes 5 years of experience testing and launching software products, along with full stack development expertise across back-end technologies such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++, and front-end technologies including JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS. You have a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms, and you've spent 3 years in a technical leadership role, guiding project teams and setting technical direction.

You thrive in collaborative environments, having worked on cross-functional or cross-business projects. Your experience in large-scale system design and distributed computing has equipped you with the skills to tackle complex challenges. You are adaptable and eager to learn, bringing fresh ideas from various domains, including artificial intelligence and natural language processing.

Desirable

A Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field would be a plus. Your experience with generative AI models and their evaluation will set you apart, as will your familiarity with the latest technologies in the field.

What you'll do

As a Staff Software Engineer at Google, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing large-scale software solutions critical to Google's needs. You will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables while collaborating with Data Science, Product, UX/UXR, and Operations teams. Your role will involve evaluating and improving Generative AI models, learning novel use cases, and identifying data needs to leverage the AI Data Platform effectively.

Your contributions will directly impact how billions of users connect and interact with information.
