Overview

Hermeus is seeking a Senior Avionics Electrical Engineer to contribute to the design and development of hypersonic aircraft. You'll work with technologies like AutoCAD and Embedded Linux to ensure the success of innovative aerospace projects.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in electrical engineering with a focus on avionics systems — your experience includes designing, testing, and integrating complex electrical systems for aerospace applications. You possess a deep understanding of embedded systems and have worked with hardware-rich environments, ensuring that your designs meet rigorous safety and performance standards.

Your expertise in AutoCAD allows you to create detailed schematics and layouts, ensuring that all components fit seamlessly within the aircraft's design. You are familiar with the latest technologies in avionics and have a passion for pushing the boundaries of what is possible in aerospace engineering.

You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and project managers. Your communication skills enable you to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring everyone is aligned on project goals.

You are committed to continuous learning and staying updated on industry trends and advancements in avionics technology. You understand the importance of innovation in the aerospace sector and are eager to contribute to groundbreaking projects that will shape the future of air travel.

Desirable

Experience with hypersonic or high-Mach aircraft systems is a plus, as is familiarity with working directly with defense contracts. If you have a background in rapid prototyping and iterative development, that will further enhance your fit for this role.

What you'll do

As a Senior Avionics Electrical Engineer at Hermeus, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of our hypersonic aircraft. You will be responsible for creating and validating electrical systems that are integral to the aircraft's performance and safety. Your work will involve collaborating with other engineers to ensure that all systems are integrated effectively and meet the stringent requirements set forth by the Department of Defense.

You will lead efforts in testing and troubleshooting avionics systems, ensuring that all components function correctly under various conditions. Your analytical skills will be essential in diagnosing issues and implementing solutions that enhance system reliability and performance.

In addition to hands-on engineering work, you will also contribute to the documentation of design processes and testing protocols. This will involve creating detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to both internal teams and external stakeholders.

You will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their careers. Your leadership will be vital in fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the engineering team.

What we offer

At Hermeus, you will be part of a mission-driven team dedicated to revolutionizing air travel. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, including opportunities for professional development and growth within the company. You will work in a dynamic environment where your contributions will have a direct impact on the future of aerospace technology. Join us in our quest to accelerate the development of hypersonic aircraft and maintain our nation's technological edge.
