Who you are

You have a minimum of 5 years of professional automotive repair experience, demonstrating your ability to handle extensive repairs and heavy engine work. Your expertise includes advanced vehicle diagnostics, allowing you to troubleshoot and resolve complex automotive issues effectively. You are skilled in repairing advanced vehicle electrical systems and have experience installing, repairing, and replacing vehicle refrigerant and recovery systems. Your knowledge extends to working on all makes and models, including electric and hybrid vehicles, showcasing your versatility in the automotive field.

You are a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment, understanding the importance of delivering exceptional customer experiences. You are committed to continuous learning and improvement, and you appreciate the opportunity for training programs that help you advance your skills and career. You possess a valid driver’s license and can communicate effectively in English, ensuring smooth interactions with customers and team members alike.

Desirable

While not mandatory, having ASE certification would be a plus, as it demonstrates your commitment to maintaining high standards in automotive repair. Familiarity with state-of-the-art tools and technology in automotive diagnostics and repair is also advantageous, as it aligns with Carvana's high-tech Inspection Centers.

What you'll do

As an Auto Mechanic at Carvana, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of automotive repairs and diagnostics. Your day-to-day tasks will include conducting thorough inspections of vehicles to identify issues, performing repairs on engines, transmissions, and other critical components, and ensuring that all work meets safety and quality standards. You will also be expected to stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques, allowing you to provide the best service possible to our customers.

You will work closely with other mechanics and technicians, collaborating to solve complex problems and share knowledge. Your role may involve training entry-level technicians, helping them develop their skills and understanding of automotive repair. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workspace, ensuring that tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service. This includes communicating with customers about their vehicle issues, providing clear explanations of the repairs needed, and ensuring that they are satisfied with the service provided. You will be expected to adhere to Carvana's commitment to delivering vehicles on time, which may require flexibility in your schedule, including the possibility of mandatory overtime during peak times.
