Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, with a strong background in developing and deploying machine learning models. Your expertise spans various AI domains, including computer vision, natural language processing, and deep learning — you've successfully contributed to projects that have a meaningful impact on public safety.

You are proficient in Python and familiar with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch. You understand the intricacies of model training, evaluation, and deployment, and you are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams to build innovative AI solutions. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders sets you apart.

You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working closely with scientists and product managers to shape the future of AI at Axon. You are eager to take ownership of your projects and drive real change, contributing to a mission that matters.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus, as is familiarity with MLOps practices. You have a keen interest in the ethical implications of AI and are committed to developing solutions that prioritize safety and justice.

What you'll do

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Axon, you will play a crucial role in developing AI capabilities for our products. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to build proof-of-concepts that demonstrate the potential of AI in enhancing public safety. Your work will involve training and evaluating machine learning models, ensuring they meet the high standards required for deployment in real-world applications.

You will engage in hands-on development, utilizing your expertise to implement cutting-edge algorithms and techniques. Your contributions will directly support Axon's mission to accelerate justice and protect lives, making your role both impactful and rewarding.

You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and helping them grow in their careers. Your insights will be invaluable as you guide the team in adopting best practices for machine learning development and deployment.

What we offer

At Axon, we believe in fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. You will be part of a team that values diverse perspectives and encourages open communication. We offer flexible working arrangements, allowing you to choose between remote work or a hybrid model from our Seattle office.

You will have access to ongoing professional development opportunities, enabling you to stay at the forefront of advancements in AI and machine learning. Our commitment to your growth is reflected in our supportive environment, where you can take ownership of your projects and drive meaningful change.

Join us at Axon and be a force for good, contributing to solutions that make a difference in the world. Together, we can create a safer future for everyone.
