Job Description

JP AMZL (Amazon Last Mile) ACES (Amazon Customer Excellence System) is seeking a Senior Manager, PMO to spearhead transformation initiatives and process excellence across our last-mile operations in Japan. As we approach 2026, this role will be pivotal in orchestrating the integration of SCM and other Mile streams, while insisting on and driving the highest standards for business processes and AI-driven efficiencies. The position demands strong collaboration with global ACES teams and regional stakeholders to align with worldwide best practices, particularly in evaluating and implementing most updated AI solutions.
As a core leader within AMZL ACES, you will need to demonstrate mastery in four critical areas that define PMO excellence: Strategic Thinking & Planning, Stakeholder Management & Communication, Program Management & Execution, and Change Management & Transformation. These super powers will be essential as you manage strategic initiatives, develop three-year strategic plans, and lead the Peak Captain Office operations. Your ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics, drive data-driven decision making, and forge strong cross-functional partnerships will be key to delivering sustainable results in this dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a "Day 1" mindset who excels at simplifying complex problems and driving scalable solutions through influence. They must demonstrate proven expertise in program management, process improvement, and change management, with the ability to translate high-level vision into actionable plans. Experience in implementing AI solutions and driving digital transformation initiatives at scale is highly valued.


Key job responsibilities
-Lead the AMZL ACES PMO team, providing strategic direction and mentorship to the team while establishing governance frameworks and mechanisms that drive operational excellence.
-Own and manage critical strategic planning processes and documentation, including three-year plans, Big Rock Initiatives, and quarterly business reviews. Lead the Peak Captain Office operations, ensuring successful execution of peak season initiatives while maintaining the highest standards for process excellence across the network.
-Partner with global ACES teams and regional stakeholders to evaluate and implement worldwide best practices and AI solutions. Drive standardization and process improvements across regions while ensuring alignment with global standards. Collaborate with Science, Tech, and Business Intelligence teams to identify and implement innovative AI solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
-Build and maintain strategic relationships with senior leadership across SCM, AMZL, and other Mile streams to drive organizational alignment and successful execution of transformation initiatives. Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes and technologies across multiple organizations.
-Work closely with business intelligence, tech teams, and operations to develop data-driven insights and metrics that guide strategic decision-making. Establish and maintain robust program management frameworks that ensure timely delivery of initiatives while maintaining visibility on key performance indicators.

-Bachelor's degree
-Experience establishing and managing PMO governance frameworks and mechanisms
-Track record of managing strategic planning processes and documentation (e.g., multi-year roadmaps, business reviews)
-Demonstrated experience in leading organizational change management initiatives
-Strong stakeholder management experience across multiple organizational levels
-Experience in building and implementing program management methodologies
-Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs at scale
-Business level English and Japanese communication skills-Master's degree or MBA
-Experience in logistics, supply chain operations, or e-commerce
-Experience working in global/matrix organizations
-The ability to drive executive-level presentations and author business documents in both languages
