Google is seeking a Senior Visual Design Manager for YouTube to lead design systems and guide team members. You'll leverage your extensive experience in product design and UX to create impactful user experiences. This role requires 10+ years of experience in design.
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 10 years of experience in product design or UX. With 8 years of visual design experience specifically in consumer-facing products, you have a strong portfolio that showcases your expertise. You have spent at least 5 years leading design projects and managing teams, demonstrating your ability to inspire and guide others. Your experience includes working closely with executive leaders for at least 3 years, allowing you to navigate complex organizational structures effectively. A Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field is preferred, along with 7 years of experience in cross-functional organizations. You are a thoughtful team leader and a visionary, with a clear understanding of user needs and insights that inform your design decisions.
You possess strong instincts and outstanding intuition informed by user needs and insights. Your ability to conceptualize UX ecosystems helps mitigate complexity and push the boundaries of design. You are comfortable owning a holistic design process and have experience managing design systems or design languages across teams or products. You are adept at improving design based on UX testing and stakeholder input, ensuring that product goals are met through effective engagement with stakeholders.
In this role, you will guide the careers of your team members, working closely with each of them to help them realize their full potential. You will own project priorities, aligning resources to support design project work. Your responsibilities will include defining and driving the future of Google design, creating impactful user experiences that resonate with users. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers to ensure a cohesive approach to design. You will be responsible for leading design projects from conception through execution, ensuring that the design aligns with product strategy and user needs. Your role will also involve engaging with stakeholders to gather input and feedback, using this information to refine and improve design outcomes.
