Overview

Google is seeking a Customer Solutions Engineer to provide expert solutions and troubleshoot technical challenges across the Google Cloud platform. You'll work with various coding languages and cloud technologies to support enterprise customers. This role requires a strong background in networking and cloud services.

Job Description

Who you are

You hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering, or possess equivalent practical experience. You have experience writing and debugging code in general-purpose programming languages such as Java, C, C++, Python, Shell, Go, or JavaScript, showcasing your versatility in software development. Your background includes a solid understanding of computer networking and web technologies, including HTTP, HTML, and DNS, which enables you to navigate complex technical environments effectively. You have system administrator-level experience with Linux/Unix or other operating systems, allowing you to manage and troubleshoot various systems efficiently. You are familiar with virtualization and orchestration frameworks, which is essential for working in cloud environments. Your experience in public cloud services, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP), equips you to handle the demands of cloud infrastructure and services. You have a knack for debugging complex workload issues across large-scale, multi-node environments, demonstrating your problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations. Additionally, you have experience in technical consulting, providing support to large enterprise customers with high service-level agreement requirements, which highlights your ability to communicate effectively and manage client expectations.

What you'll do

In your role as a Customer Solutions Engineer at Google, you will act as a trusted advisor to a diverse range of customers, from fast-growing startups to global enterprises. You will dive deep into complex technical challenges, troubleshooting critical issues across the Google Cloud platform and providing expert solutions that help customers innovate with confidence. You will collaborate with engineering teams to drive high-quality production and act as a subject matter expert for internal stakeholders in Engineering, Sales, and customer organizations to resolve technical deployment obstacles and improve Google Cloud services. Your responsibilities will include ensuring 24-hour customer support as part of a global team of engineers and consultants. You may need to work non-standard hours or shifts, including weekends, to meet customer needs and ensure high service levels. Your role will require you to stay updated on the latest cloud technologies and best practices, enabling you to provide the most effective solutions to customers. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of Google Cloud services, leveraging your insights and experiences to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
