Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Sourcing Manager for the Starshield Supply Chain team to manage demand planning and sourcing for satellite hardware. This role requires strong supplier management and cost management skills.

Who you are

You have a strong background in supply chain management, particularly in sourcing and procurement, with experience in managing supplier relationships and developing cost management strategies. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are adept at pulling and aggregating demand signals to support production needs. Your ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and run the RFX process is essential for success in this role. You are detail-oriented and have a strong understanding of budgeting and forecasting, ensuring adherence to project-specific financial goals.

Desirable

Experience in the aerospace or satellite industry would be a plus, as would familiarity with hardware sourcing and supply chain dynamics. You are comfortable working with cross-functional teams and have a proactive approach to problem-solving. A background in engineering or technical fields can enhance your effectiveness in this role, allowing you to better understand the products and components involved in the Starshield project.

What you'll do

As a Sourcing Manager for SpaceX's Starshield project, you will be responsible for managing the demand plan and sourcing strategies for hardware used in the satellite constellation. You will work directly with key suppliers to develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with project goals. Your role will involve pulling and aggregating demand data to create accurate demand signals, enabling efficient production planning. You will act as the primary interface for all RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs, ensuring that supplier evaluations are thorough and effective.

You will partner with internal stakeholders to facilitate the RFX process, using the results to make informed sourcing decisions. Managing costs aggressively will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you will ensure that all sourcing activities adhere to project budgets and forecasts. You will also develop should-cost models to maintain competitive pricing and drive supplier performance improvements.
