Overview

Google is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead strategic analysis for their Consumer Shopping team. You'll work with Python, R, and SQL to solve product and business problems. This role requires 8+ years of experience and offers a competitive salary range of $156,000-$229,000.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience. With 8 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, you are proficient in coding with languages such as Python, R, and SQL, and have a strong background in querying databases and statistical analysis. You are experienced in metrics analysis and user experience measurement, and you have a proven ability to work with peers and executive stakeholders. Your expertise includes experiment design and analysis, as well as familiarity with Gen AI evaluation science, machine learning, and modern AI technologies. You thrive in fast-paced environments and can manage product quality iterations effectively.

Desirable

Experience with cross-functional collaboration is a plus, as you will interact with various leaders and teams to identify opportunities for design and assess product improvements. Your ability to present findings clearly to stakeholders at multiple levels will be crucial in making business recommendations.

What you'll do

As a Senior Data Scientist on the Consumer Shopping team, you will lead efforts in conducting key strategic analyses using both log and third-party data sources. Your insights will directly inform product roadmapping and help shape the future of Google Shopping, a comprehensive product search engine and marketplace. You will work closely with engineering and product management teams to identify opportunities for design improvements and assess product enhancements. Your role will involve sharing insights with leadership, ensuring that data-driven decisions are made to enhance user experiences across various surfaces including .com, AI Mode, and Gemini. You will be responsible for managing the analysis of user interactions and product performance, leveraging your skills in statistical analysis and machine learning to drive impactful changes.
