DoorDash is seeking an SMB Business Development Executive I - Retention to lead high-impact negotiations with strategic restaurant partners. This role requires strong commercial judgment and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive retention and revenue growth.

Who you are

You have a strong understanding of restaurant economics and possess the commercial judgment necessary to lead complex negotiations. You are comfortable working autonomously while also collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and senior leadership. Your executive presence allows you to influence strategy and develop compelling proposals that align with both merchant needs and DoorDash’s strategic priorities. You thrive in a role that requires balancing multiple priorities and driving outcomes that support long-term retention and revenue growth.

Desirable

Experience in business development or account management within the restaurant or food delivery industry would be a plus. Familiarity with negotiation tactics and strategies will enhance your effectiveness in this role. You are excited about the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, splitting your time between in-office work, traveling to meet merchants, and working from home.

What you'll do

As an SMB Business Development Executive I - Retention, you will lead high-impact negotiations with SMB-managed merchants during pivotal partnership moments, including contract renewals and exclusivity discussions. You will own the deal conversations from start to finish, ensuring that both merchant needs and DoorDash’s strategic priorities are met. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams, including Product, Strategic Finance, and Legal, to drive retention and deal efficiency. You will be responsible for developing insights that can be scaled across the broader business, influencing strategy and outcomes that support long-term success.
