You have 8+ years of software development experience, with a strong background in building scalable systems. Your expertise in Java is complemented by a solid understanding of JVM internals, allowing you to design and implement high-performance applications. You possess proven skills in creating distributed systems that can handle high transaction volumes, ensuring reliability and availability.

Your deep systems thinking enables you to tackle complex engineering challenges, particularly in the realm of applied machine learning. While knowledge of machine learning concepts, tools, and packages is beneficial, you are open to ongoing skill acquisition as part of your role. You understand the importance of computer science fundamentals and can apply them effectively in real-world scenarios. Your experience includes working on production-grade platforms, where you have successfully solved hard distributed systems problems. What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and enhancing the Applied Machine Learning Platform. You will work closely with various teams to provide backend services and infrastructure that support machine learning and data science initiatives. Your contributions will help in training, building, deploying, and inferring models at scale, particularly in preventing fraud on platforms like Apple Pay and the App Store.

You will engage in the development of core services that act as the backbone of the platform, ensuring they can handle thousands of transactions per second in a distributed manner. Your work will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify requirements and implement solutions that drive operations and logistics for AppleCare and Retail.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will also be involved in mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their careers. You will participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural discussions, and ensure that best practices are followed throughout the development process.
