Security Software Engineer, Detection Platform Infrastructure

Who you are

You have 7+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in building and scaling security analytics infrastructure. Your background includes designing and implementing data pipelines that handle large volumes of security telemetry, and you have a strong understanding of machine learning principles and their application in security contexts. You are proficient in Python and have experience with cloud services such as AWS, which you leverage to create robust and scalable solutions. Your expertise also extends to working with data storage and querying systems, particularly Elasticsearch, to efficiently manage security-relevant data. You enjoy mentoring engineers and contributing to team growth, fostering a collaborative environment where innovative security solutions can thrive.

Desirable

Experience with user behavior analytics (UEBA) and anomaly detection capabilities would be a plus, as would familiarity with developing ML-powered detection systems. You are comfortable creating rapid prototypes and proof-of-concepts for new security tooling and analytics capabilities, showcasing your ability to innovate and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Your collaborative spirit allows you to work closely with security and infrastructure teams to understand their requirements and deliver effective solutions.

What you'll do

In this role, you will architect and implement data pipelines that process massive amounts of security telemetry, ensuring that the infrastructure can scale with the growing demands of the organization. You will build and optimize machine learning-powered detection systems, focusing on user behavior analytics and anomaly detection capabilities that enhance the security posture of the organization. Your responsibilities will include creating innovative solutions that leverage Claude and other ML models to transform security operations, ultimately improving detection and response capabilities. You will also participate in on-call shifts, ensuring that the security infrastructure remains robust and responsive to threats. As a senior member of the team, you will mentor junior engineers, helping them grow their skills and contribute to the overall success of the Security team.
