PCB Designer (Starshield)

Who you are

You have a strong background in PCB design, with experience in creating layouts for various types of printed circuit boards. Your expertise includes determining layer stackup, performing component package selection, and conducting routing feasibility studies for digital, analog, RF, and power conversion applications. You are proficient in using PCB design tools such as Altium Designer and Eagle, and you understand the intricacies of signal routing and design for test and manufacture guidelines. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with hardware engineers to iterate on designs and ensure the best possible solutions are achieved.

You possess a keen eye for detail and are committed to maintaining high standards in your work. Your ability to create and release documentation for PCB fabrication is complemented by your experience in library creation and maintenance. What you'll do

As a PCB Designer at SpaceX, you will be responsible for creating the layout for all in-house board designs for the Starshield project. You will partner closely with Hardware Development Engineers, providing your expertise and recommendations during design reviews. Your role will involve determining layer stackup, performing component package selection, and conducting routing feasibility studies to ensure optimal signal routing for various applications. You will also be tasked with library creation and maintenance, ensuring that all components are accurately represented in your designs.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work with internal teams and PCB vendors to continually improve design rules and constraints. You will create and release documentation for the fabrication of PCBs, ensuring that all necessary information is available for manufacturing. Your contributions will directly impact the success of the Starshield project, as you help develop technologies that support national security efforts.
