Sr. Security Engineer - DevSecOps (Hybrid in Bangalore)

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in security engineering, particularly in DevSecOps, where you've successfully integrated security practices into the software development lifecycle. Your background includes a strong understanding of cloud security, especially with AWS, and you are adept at using tools like Docker and Kubernetes to manage secure environments. You are proficient in scripting and automation, particularly with Python, which you use to streamline security processes and enhance system reliability. Your experience with infrastructure as code, particularly using Terraform, allows you to build and maintain secure infrastructure efficiently. You are familiar with Linux systems and have a solid grasp of network security principles, enabling you to protect systems against various threats. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to address security challenges proactively.

Desirable

Experience with incident response and vulnerability management is a plus, as is familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards. You have a keen interest in staying updated with the latest security trends and technologies, which helps you to continuously improve security measures within your organization.

What you'll do

In this role, you will engineer secure and resilient infrastructure, designing and building systems that are both scalable and highly available. You will work closely with the Security Operations team to enhance the security posture of Smartsheet's production environment, ensuring that security is integrated into every aspect of the development process. Your responsibilities will include implementing security best practices, conducting security assessments, and responding to security incidents as they arise. You will also collaborate with software engineers to embed security controls into applications and infrastructure, ensuring that security is a shared responsibility across teams. Additionally, you will monitor systems for security breaches and vulnerabilities, using your expertise to mitigate risks effectively. Your role will involve continuous improvement of security processes and tools, leveraging automation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
