You are a detail-oriented individual with a high school diploma or GED equivalent, ready to take on the role of Key Technician at Carvana. You possess the ability to work independently, prioritizing tasks effectively while ensuring that all vehicles in the reconditioning process have functional keys. Your experience with computer operations, particularly with Windows-based software, allows you to retrieve key codes and interface with vehicle immobilizer systems efficiently. You have a knack for managing inventory, ensuring that key blanks, fobs, batteries, and transponders are always stocked and organized within the Key Van. Your strong record-keeping skills enable you to accurately track and document all vehicles processed and keys generated during your shifts, maintaining data integrity throughout the process.

Desirable

While not mandatory, any prior experience in automotive locksmithing or related fields would be beneficial. Familiarity with specialized key cutting equipment and diagnostic scan tools will give you an edge in this role. A valid driver's license is essential, as you will be operating a mobile Key Van throughout the lot.

What you'll do

As a Key Technician, your primary responsibility will be to operate specialized key cutting equipment and diagnostic tools to cut and program keys and remotes for various vehicle makes and models. You will drive the outfitted Key Van around the facility, locating and servicing units that do not currently have keys. Your role will require you to utilize a laptop and Windows-based software to retrieve key codes and interface with vehicle immobilizer systems, ensuring that all vehicles are ready for the reconditioning process. You will manage the inventory of key blanks, fobs, batteries, and transponders within the Key Van, ensuring that supplies are replenished as needed. Additionally, you will maintain a clean and organized work environment, keeping the Key Van and tools in top condition. Following standard operating procedures and rules will be crucial to your success in this role.
