Staff Software Engineer, Payments Platform

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of experience in software development. Your background includes 5 years of experience testing and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture. You possess experience with technical infrastructure and have strong skills in Java, with additional experience in Kotlin. You have also demonstrated leadership qualities, having spent 3 years in a technical leadership role where you led project teams and set technical direction. Your experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects has equipped you with the skills to navigate diverse team dynamics effectively.

What you'll do

As a Staff Software Engineer at Google, you will work on critical projects that shape the future of the Payments Platform. You will collaborate with Product Managers, UX designers, and other technical leads to define the goals, strategy, and roadmap for core Payments initiatives. Your role will involve leading engineering teams in full vertical stack design, implementation, and optimization of software products. You will be responsible for ensuring that the software you develop meets the high standards expected at Google, handling information at massive scale and contributing to the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect and interact.
