With over 5 years of experience in a related domain, you have a proven track record of driving projects from conception to execution, ensuring that your team meets its goals while pushing the boundaries of technology. You excel in building collaborative relationships with both upstream and downstream teams, facilitating effective communication and project alignment.

Your expertise includes a deep understanding of vehicle classification and the various states and intents that vehicles can exhibit. You are familiar with the challenges of developing production modules that require fine-grained classification and are adept at navigating the complexities of autonomous driving technology. You are passionate about improving mobility and safety through innovative solutions.

Experience in the autonomous driving industry or related fields is a plus. Familiarity with machine learning techniques and their application in perception systems will set you apart. What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the Vehicle Understanding team, focusing on the production modules that are critical to the Waymo Driver's functionality. You will be responsible for overseeing the development of systems that classify vehicles into various categories and states, ensuring that the Waymo Driver can interpret its environment accurately. Your leadership will be essential in scaling Waymo's business and driving the immediate impact of your team's work.

You will collaborate closely with other teams to facilitate the integration of your work into the broader Waymo ecosystem. This includes working with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the Vehicle Understanding modules meet the necessary requirements and are delivered on time. You will also be involved in strategic discussions about the future direction of the technology and how it can be applied to enhance the Waymo Driver's capabilities.
