Motional is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer for their Perception team to develop advanced algorithms for autonomous vehicles. You'll work with technologies like machine learning and computer vision to enhance object detection and tracking. This role requires a Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field.
You hold a Master's or Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Robotics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field — your academic background equips you with a strong foundation in the principles of machine learning and its applications in real-world scenarios. You have extensive experience in developing and implementing advanced perception algorithms for object detection, tracking, classification, and segmentation using various sensor data including camera, lidar, and radar. Your passion for Level 4 autonomous driving technology drives you to tackle intellectual challenges and contribute to impactful projects.
You are skilled in designing and implementing sensor fusion algorithms that combine data from multiple sensors to create robust and accurate perception systems — your expertise ensures that the perception systems you develop can operate effectively in dynamic environments. You have a proven track record of optimizing perception algorithms for real-time performance on embedded hardware, demonstrating your ability to balance complexity with efficiency. As a mentor, you enjoy guiding junior engineers, sharing your knowledge, and fostering their growth within the team.
In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of advanced perception algorithms that are critical for the operation of autonomous vehicles — your work will directly contribute to making self-driving technology a reality.
