Google is seeking a Software Engineer III to work on Spanner Vector Search. You'll be involved in building and modifying core components of database systems using C++, Python, or Go. This role requires 2 years of relevant experience and offers opportunities to work on large-scale systems.
You hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience and have at least 2 years of experience programming in C++, Python, or Go. You have a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms, gained through either academic or industry settings. Your experience includes building or modifying core components of a database system, such as storage engines, query processors, or transaction managers. You are familiar with performance analysis, large-scale systems, and debugging techniques, and you have a keen interest in code and system health, diagnosis, and resolution. You are versatile and display leadership qualities, eager to tackle new challenges across the full-stack as the business evolves.
A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields is preferred. Experience with visualization tools and software test engineering would be a plus, as well as a background in information retrieval, distributed computing, and networking.
