Bungie is seeking a Lead Game Engineer to design and build the player pursuit engine for their upcoming game Marathon. You'll collaborate with creative partners and manage engineering talent while utilizing your expertise in C++. This role requires experience in designing networked game systems.
You have a passion for games and the technology that drives player engagement — your experience in designing and building networked game systems has equipped you with the skills to create immersive player experiences. As a leader, you have successfully managed and mentored engineers, guiding them through the planning, development, and shipping of high-quality code. Your ability to communicate effectively with fellow engineers allows you to drive team consensus and alignment on technical solutions.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with creative talent to develop features that enhance gameplay and player pursuits. Your technical expertise in C++ enables you to build and maintain production-quality code, ensuring that the game's economy model is robust and engaging. As the Lead Game Engineer for Marathon, you will be responsible for designing and building the player pursuit engine, a critical component of the game's economy model. You will lead by example, writing and maintaining high-quality C++ code while collaborating with design leads to develop technical solutions that meet their vision for player experiences. Your role will involve managing a small team of engineers, providing them with the support and mentorship they need to succeed.
You will be an owner and decision-maker for technical features related to player pursuits, ensuring that the systems you build are scalable and maintainable.
